The New Zealand Resuscitation Council curriculum offers responders skills and knowledge in resuscitation and emergency care. Each course promotes best practice, an emphasises on team work, and is underpinned by the Australia and New Zealand Committee on Resuscitation (ANZCOR) guidelines.
Where do I go to find training?
Everyone is a potential responder. To decide which training course suits you best, firstly identify the resuscitation skills and knowledge that you might need as a responder.
To do this, we suggest you use the Responder Training Framework
You will then need to find a training provider. The NZ Resuscitation Council trains resuscitation instructors, who independently provide our courses. Therefore, we are unable to recommend specific training providers for you.
Your organisation may have designated providers for you. If not, you will be able to find an independent provider with a Google Search.
Many providers list their courses as being “New Zealand Resuscitation equivalent”. The NZ Resuscitation Council does not recognise unapproved CORE or NLS courses. We do not assess alternative courses and cannot guarantee their content or quality.
The NZ Resuscitation Council is committed to ensuring the quality of our CORE training programme. CORE Advanced sets the industry standard for resuscitation training. The curriculum is based on up-to-date research, with consistent content in every course taught across Aotearoa New Zealand.
The NZ Resuscitation Council, as a member of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), applies the latest global standards directly to our teaching materials. CORE is unique, in that it is formulated by New Zealand’s authority on resuscitation, with input and oversight from a comprehensive array of sector stakeholders.
